The name "Sonobra" is an acronym derived from the names of the original members of the group. Wm. "Sonny" Hoxter(Vibes), Wes Norton ( guitar), and Floyd Bracey (bass). The trio infrequently plays together now, but is available if needed.

The vibes player also doubles piano.
